Job Description

A Workshop Manager is a pivotal role within any production or manufacturing environment, responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring that the workshop runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires an individual who possesses strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and in-depth technical expertise. The Workshop Manager provides direction and guidance to a diverse team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Additionally, this role involves coordinating workflow, managing resources, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget. A successful Workshop Manager is proactive in identifying and resolving operational challenges, and is dedicated to maintaining high standards of work and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the workshop to ensure efficiency.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Carry out regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to standards.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Develop and implement processes to enhance productivity and efficiency in the workshop.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide feedback and training opportunities as needed.
  • Handle customer inquiries and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, as well as report on workshop financial performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate integrated company operations.
  • Resolve conflicts and challenges between team members to maintain a harmonious environment.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to continually improve workshop practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar managerial role is required.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting in a workshop setting.
  • Familiarity with workshop tools, equipment, and safety protocols is essential.
