Working Foreman

MBW Courier Inc, part of the Municipal Group of Companies, has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing unmatched quality service to our customers and employing quality employees. Our services include Courier Services, Light LTL, and Third-Party Logistics to the province of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland. We are currently looking for a Working Foreman based out of Port Hawkesbury, NS.

Job Summary

The Working Foreman is a hands-on leadership role responsible for completing assigned delivery routes while directing and supporting daily courier operations. This position serves as the on site lead for drivers, ensuring work is coordinated effectively, safety standards are followed, and service commitments are met. The Working Foreman works closely with dispatch and management to address operational issues and maintain efficient, professional day to day operations.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Complete assigned pickup and delivery routes in accordance with company standards
• Operate company vehicles safely and professionally at all times
• Direct daily work assignments for drivers and dock staff
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during shifts
• Coordinate with dispatch regarding routes, delays, and operational changes
• Provide guidance, troubleshooting, and support to drivers throughout the day
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, company policies, and customer requirements
• Conduct pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections and report deficiencies
• Address minor performance or workflow issues and escalate concerns to management as needed
• Assist with yard, dock, and workflow organization
• Complete required documentation, logs, and delivery records accurately
• All other duties required.
  
  

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, And Experience

• Valid class 5 driver’s license (required)
• Clean driving abstract and demonstrated commitment to safety
• Previous courier, delivery, or transportation experience (required)
• Experience directing, leading, or mentoring others (preferred)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
• Physically capable of performing delivery, loading, and yard duties
• Working safely is a condition of employment.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required)
• Clear Criminal Background Check.
