As a Watchmaker, you will specialize in the repair, maintenance, and restoration of watches, ensuring that timepieces function accurately and efficiently. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and craftsmanship will play a vital role in preserving the quality and value of luxury and mechanical watches.
Responsibilities:
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble watch movements to ensure accurate timekeeping.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, quartz, and automatic watch movements.
Replace damaged or worn watch components, including crystals, crowns, hands, and springs.
Source authentic replacement parts from authorized suppliers.
Restore vintage and antique watches, bringing them back to their original condition.
Refurbish cases and bracelets, removing scratches and polishing surfaces.
Test and regulate watch movements to ensure precision and accuracy.
Perform water resistance testing to ensure watch durability.
Assemble watch movements and ensure proper alignment of components.
Calibrate watches to meet manufacturer specifications.
Identify and troubleshoot issues in watch movements and mechanisms.
Provide recommendations for necessary repairs or adjustments.
Interact with customers, providing explanations of repairs, estimates, and timelines.
Provide advice on watch care and maintenance.
Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and work performed for each watch.
Create repair reports and invoices for customers.
Maintain and care for watchmaking tools and equipment to ensure accurate and safe repairs.
Stay updated on industry trends, watchmaking techniques, and new technologies.
Participate in training and workshops to enhance skills.
Formal education or certification in watchmaking from a recognized institution.
Proven experience as a Watchmaker, preferably in luxury or mechanical watches.
Proficiency in handling and repairing a variety of watch movements and complications.
Strong technical skills in disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling watch components.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Familiarity with watchmaking tools and equipment.
Knowledge of watch brands, models, and historical significance.
Customer service skills for interacting with clients and explaining repairs.
Ability to work with precision and patience.
Problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving watch issues.
Adaptability to different watch styles and mechanisms.
Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic is advantageous.
