Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor role within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is pivotal for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the warehouse. This role demands a proactive individual adept at problem-solving to enhance the efficiency of warehouse operations through strategic planning and effective resource allocation. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the seamless receipt, storage, and distribution of products while maintaining high inventory accuracy levels and observing health and safety standards. Key responsibilities include supervising a team to ensure productivity and quality performance, implementing warehouse policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, with excellent interpersonal skills to motivate staff, drive efficiency, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Moreover, the ability to adapt to fast-paced environments, along with outstanding organizational and management skills, is essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient receiving, dispatching, and storage of products in the warehouse.
  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality inspection of incoming goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment with supply chain department.
  • Plan and implement operational policies and procedures for improved efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
  • Collaborate with transport and logistics teams to optimize product deliveries.
  • Manage and lead warehouse staff, including task assignments and performance reviews.
  • Ensure proper use of warehouse equipment through regular maintenance checks.
  • Analyze productivity and workflow trends to suggest process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all warehouse activities and transactions.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Train and develop warehouse personnel to enhance job performance and skills.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse supervisory experience in FMCG sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with demonstrated experience.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective team and stakeholder interaction.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and warehouse software applications.
  • Ability to multitask and handle demanding situations with composure.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in warehousing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with capacity to make quick decisions.
  • Flexible to work in shifts and during peak operational hours.
  • Certification in warehouse management or operations is an added advantage.
