Job Description

The Warehouse Storekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of warehouse activities. This position involves maintaining accurate records of inventory, managing stock levels, and ensuring that all stored products are kept in optimal conditions. The Warehouse Storekeeper is responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, as well as coordinating the flow of products, from receipt to dispatch. This role includes monitoring stock levels, making sure records are updated regularly, and liaising with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and possess strong organizational skills to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse operations.


Responsibilities

  • Receive and document incoming deliveries and supplies in the warehouse system.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and ensure proper stock rotation practices.
  • Conduct regular physical counts of stock and reconcile with inventory records.
  • Organize the warehouse in a neat and orderly manner to optimize space usage.
  • Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or issues to management promptly.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and logistics departments for order planning and execution.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse environment at all times.
  • Prepare and process orders to ensure efficient delivery and dispatching of products.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
  • Implement and follow proper warehouse safety procedures to prevent accidents.
  • Manage the return of defective or damaged goods and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required for this position.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment and inventory management systems is necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical in this role.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items safely.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
