Job Description

The Warehouse Helper is a vital member of the warehouse operations team, responsible for assisting in the daily functions necessary to maintain an efficient and organized warehouse. This role is essential for supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently. The Warehouse Helper will work closely with other team members to contribute to a smooth-running warehouse environment, maintaining safety standards and achieving productivity goals. This position demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions precisely. The Warehouse Helper plays a crucial role in supporting the supply chain by managing inventory, loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the workplace.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving shipments by unloading and inspecting incoming goods.
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins as per organizational standards.
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup as instructed.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
  • Operate and maintain preventive measures for warehouse equipment and vehicles.
  • Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and other team members to optimize work processes.
  • Participate in the counting of physical inventory as scheduled.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks by hand or with appropriate equipment.
  • Regularly check stock and maintain records of damaged goods and shortages.
  • Conduct periodic maintenance checks on warehouse tools and machinery.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and ensure compliance in all areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is generally preferred by employers.
  • Proven experience as a warehouse helper or other manual labor task.
  • Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Physically fit to lift and handle heavy objects when necessary.
  • Understanding of basic inventory principles and the ability to read packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
