Job Description

The Warehouse Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring that warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently. As a key member of the logistics team, the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. They will ensure that products are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and on time. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of warehouse safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management and a keen understanding of logistical processes. Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming stock and materials in a timely manner.
  • Pick and fill orders from stock and manage order inventories accurately.
  • Prepare orders for delivery or shipment ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests.
  • Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Keep the warehouse organized and clean, ensuring safe work practices.
  • Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues with stock or the warehouse environment.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics staff to coordinate work activities.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide support to other warehouse teams as required for operational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
  • Proven working experience as a warehouse worker or similar role in logistics.
  • Familiarity with warehousing practices and methods is essential.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
