IMEG is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Virtual Design Technician in our Columbus, OH office. As a Virtual Design Technician, you will be responsible for producing models and documentation by using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. They will work closely with other Technicians/Coordinators, Designers, and Engineers on projects. This position will be expected to work within the project’s monetary budget as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

• Model, edit, rework, and update models and drawings as communicated by project designers through markups
• Work collaboratively with other team members to develop models and drawings
• Assist engineers and designers with field measurements of existing building systems and prepare models and drawings from field data
• Export documents and transfer files to clients
• Follow established standards for modeling and production of drawings and are of quality acceptable to the company
• Coordinate models and workflow between members of the design team
  
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical plans and models desired
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering as-built drawings desired
• Basic experience in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues and clients
• Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• High level of professionalism

Education and Experience

• Associate degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) preferred
• No experience required
• Revit skills desired
  
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull
