The opportunity

Guy Carpenter is looking for a senior Life & Health leader to join the Dubai team and take ownership of the Life & Health business across the IMEA market, with a strong focus on the Middle East and GCC.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines technical depth, strong market credibility, and the commercial instinct to build and grow business. The successful candidate will lead client and reinsurer engagement, drive strategic growth across the region, and manage a small team in support of the wider Life & Health agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Life & Health business across IMEA, with particular focus on the Middle East and GCC
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance company clients and reinsurance market partners
  • Originate and develop new business opportunities across the Life & Health space
  • Provide technical leadership across pricing, underwriting, structuring, and broader Life-related market discussions
  • Represent Guy Carpenter as a credible senior market voice in the region
  • Lead, support, and develop a small team including technical analytics and broker support resources
  • Work closely with clients and markets to deliver commercially strong and technically sound solutions
  • Partner with regional leadership to shape business strategy and support long-term growth

Candidate profile

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong current or recent experience in Life business across the Middle East
  • A technical background in actuarial, underwriting, pricing, structuring, or related Life disciplines
  • Proven ability to combine technical credibility with commercial relationship-building strength
  • Existing market relationships across insurers and reinsurers in the region
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in English
  • The presence, credibility, and leadership capability to head a regional function
  • People management experience

Preferred Background

  • Experience gained within insurer or reinsurer environments is strongly preferred
  • Existing exposure to GCC markets is highly valuable
  • French language skills would be an advantage, but are not essential
