The Job is being created to lead the growth through effective leadership, solutions and deployment of Digital Banking Channel experiences for Corporate Oracle Banking suite of products.

About The Role

Being an Internet banking hybrid channel, supports both web and mobile banking operations for Payments and Cash liquidity solutions for Corporates across the Mashreq bank i.e., UAE, IBG and FI locations in future.

This role seeks critical technical and functional expertise/capability to create solutions and develop custom implementations. You will contribute in building a feature rich digital and resilient system for corporate clients of Mashreq and consequent business growth.

The role envisages, continuous collaboration with all the stakeholders like Product for Change management, Business for requirements and issue analysis, CSU for customer interactions, feedback and experience, Operations for administration and reconciliation, Development team for implementation of change, Vendors for product upgrades and support and ISG for info security in order to keep the system up and running 24/7.

Business Outlook

Corporate banking platform drives the GTB revenues of AED 2 billion, handles about 1.5 million transactions annually, supporting approximately 13,500 GTB Corporate customer’s banking needs across 5 countries.

Bank has identified Multinational and Regional Corporations as the key target segment for future growth. These large Corporates have complex Payments (with centralised payment hubs) coupled with intra-group and cross-border liquidity requirements. Efficient Liquidity Management drives corporate business optimising cost of funds, and is a critical driver for Bank selection.

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of the Corporate Banking Channels technology strategy in collaboration with GTB Product Owners and cross-functional technology teams.
  • Serve as the Techno-Functional Owner of the Corporate Channel application platform (OBDX), ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Bring deep domain expertise in Corporate Transaction Banking, with comprehensive knowledge of banking platforms and applications. Provide hands-on leadership in delivering technology solutions, particularly within the CIBG function.
  • Possess strong technical capabilities, enabling seamless collaboration across diverse teams in a complex IT environment. Act as a strategic liaison between business and technology to ensure the delivery of high-quality, business-aligned solutions. Take full accountability for the relevance and effectiveness of technology implementations.
  • Drive thought leadership in the evolution of banking channels, focusing on key areas such as user management, file handling, multi-entity and CIF scenarios, approvals, trackers, and transaction integrity. Champion Mashreq’s ambition to become the leading digital bank.
  • Define and promote a forward-looking product vision that aligns with Mashreq’s business model and responds to the broader competitive landscape.
  • Exhibit executive presence in managing senior business stakeholders and product heads. Lead business partner review meetings, represent technology, and address Lean recommendations and action items.
  • Act as an internal consultant to business owners, influencing the development of the channel’s roadmap.
  • Lead digital partnerships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration for web and mobile banking across UAE and other Mashreq locations.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach by understanding client needs, addressing challenges, and shaping strategies to meet market demand.
  • Manage business expectations across delivery and support. Establish effective communication channels for issue resolution and new initiatives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiations, ensuring strong partnerships with banking channel providers across Mashreq locations.
  • Keep management informed of all risks and issues, ensuring transparency and proactive resolution.
  • Partner with Business Product Owners to shape the Corporate Channels roadmap and drive the overarching technology strategy for Corporate Banking solutions.
  • Own the strategy, solution architecture, technology landscape, and resource planning to ensure seamless execution and alignment with business goals.
  • Optimize solution delivery by aligning business requirements with existing applications, emerging technology trends, scalability, stability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Leverage deep domain knowledge and technical expertise to navigate complex environments and recommend the most effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Balance diverse stakeholder expectations and team dynamics to achieve optimal outcomes. Apply sound judgment to evaluate options and deliver results within defined timelines.
  • Introduce innovative approaches to business challenges by enhancing existing applications or recommending strategic improvements.
  • Demonstrate strategic foresight by anticipating industry trends and environmental shifts, translating them into competitive advantages for Mashreq.
  • Lead end-to-end change delivery, prioritization, and implementation aligned with business objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Own and manage the annual technical change budget of approximately AED 10 million, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization.
  • Exercise full authority and accountability over the Corporate Channels platform, driving performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with change management protocols for all production rollouts, delivering cost-effective, scalable, stable, and business-friendly technology solutions.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulatory, control, and audit requirements. Collaborate with cluster leads to proactively manage risks associated with teams and projects.
  • Design robust technical solutions that effectively address business requirements and enable operational excellence.
  • Oversee Test and Release Management disciplines to ensure smooth deployments and minimal disruption.
  • Lead Problem and Incident Management processes to maintain platform reliability and responsiveness.
  • Possess strong knowledge of audit, security, and regulatory compliance, including Information Security operations and incident management.
  • Build, manage, supervise, coach and mentor a technical team comprising Developers, Technical Subject matter experts, Solution Designers
  • Define talent and succession planning for the future, where possible building career paths
  • Adhere to banks operational risk policy.
  • Right balancing between onshore and offshore capabilities
  • Work with Technology Dubai and Bangalore team in planning and delivering initiatives.
  • Work with team members participating in back up and training activities.
  • Internal functions and work practices as per policy, compliance and procedures of the organization.
  • Provide general administrative support to the team, including, meetings, knowledge transfer and Timesheet reporting, preparation pf weekly status report.
  • ~20 Years’ experience in experience with Corporate Global Transaction Banking in the area of Corporate Channels, APIs and integrations.
  • Channel Banking expert, and extensive experience in product management and/or payments overall. Experience at an Oracle Banking product / Bank preferred.
  • Possess demonstrable Corporate Transaction banking domain knowledge; good knowledge and exposure of Banking applications/platforms; expertise and hands on experience to facilitate technology solution delivery for the bank especially in CIBG function
  • Must have technical skills - Java 8 and above, Oracle Database, Oracle PLSQL, REST services, SOAP web services, ORM/Eclipselink, Oracle Web-logic, CSS3, SASS, nodeJS, JQuery, Knockout JS
  • Expert understanding of industry standards, platforms and tools to drive technology strategy for the Global Transaction Banking
  • High energy, motivated leader, able to influence across functions to drive projects and key initiatives to completion. Previous experience with managing a team.
  • Technical fluency – understands how products are developed and the agile method.
  • Strong commercial acumen; understands the economics of client’s business and how our products impact a client’s P&L as well as the commercial drivers of Mashreq’s business
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English
