As a Veterinary Nurse, you will become an integral member of the veterinary care team, providing essential support to veterinarians and ensuring the well-being and comfort of animal patients. You will be responsible for extending hands-on care to animals in medical need, assisting with assessments, diagnoses, and treatments. Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to veterinarians during surgical procedures and complex medical treatments.
  • Perform preliminary examinations and gather patient histories for veterinarian assessments.
  • Administer prescribed medications, vaccines, and post-surgical care to animals.
  • Monitor vital signs and recovery of animal patients after surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment at all times.
  • Implement infection-control measures to safeguard the health of both patients and staff.
  • Educate pet owners on proper nutrition, preventative care, and behavior management.
  • Handle pet registration, appointment scheduling, and update medical records conscientiously.
  • Assist in radiographic imaging processes and laboratory testing as needed.
  • Liaise with pet owners post-treatment, ensuring clarity on home-care instructions.
  • Manage emergency cases efficiently with a calm demeanor and quick judgment.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training sessions actively.


Requirements

  • Hold a Veterinary Nursing degree or equivalent accredited certification.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diverse client base.
  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting is highly desirable.
  • Have proficiency in handling standard veterinary equipment and software.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills consistently.
  • Ability to manage stress and remain composed in fast-paced situations.
  • Possess a deep passion and genuine care for the welfare of animals.
  • Commitment to building compassionate relationships with both pets and owners.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Capable of lifting and handling animals of differing sizes and temperaments.
