Job Description

The Van Sales Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient distribution and sales of products directly from company-owned vans to retailers and other sales points. As an integral part of the sales team, the Van Sales Officer not only strives to meet daily sales targets but also focuses on building and nurturing relationships with customers. The role involves strategic route planning, ensuring product availability, and maintaining accurate records of sales and stock levels. This position is perfect for those who enjoy working independently in the field, have excellent sales skills, and are committed to providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate would be proactive, motivated, and adept at managing both logistics and sales within a specified geographical area.


Responsibilities

  • Execute direct sales operations by visiting retail outlets along a specified route.
  • Ensure consistent product availability across all designated retail outlets in the area.
  • Meet and exceed daily and monthly sales targets and objectives set by management.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service with existing and new customers.
  • Develop new business opportunities by identifying potential areas for growth and expansion.
  • Keep accurate records of customer orders, payments, and feedback for reporting purposes.
  • Replenish van stock based on daily sales and inventory requirements to prevent shortages.
  • Implement sales strategies and promotions to increase product visibility and sales volume.
  • Monitor competitor activities and report important market information to management.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery and restocking of vans.
  • Handle customer complaints, returns, and inquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Prepare regular sales and activity reports for management review and analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • At least two years of experience in direct sales, ideally in the FMCG sector.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to operate a sales van.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
