Overview Of The Role:

  • The role of Sales Assistant at HomeZone involves delivering an exceptional shopping experience by maintaining a clean and organized store environment, understanding and utilizing product knowledge to assist customers, and executing sales transactions efficiently. The position requires a proactive approach to learning and applying merchandising principles while contributing to store events such as product launches and seasonal sales. The Sales Assistant directly contributes to achieving sales targets through effective customer engagement and transactional accuracy.

What You Will Do:

Customer Service

  • Provide high level customer service at all times, both internal and external.
  • Assist and advise customers in a professional manner using product category knowledge.

Sales Operations

  • Operate the point of sales system as required, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
  • Utilize selling techniques to drive sales and meet store targets.

Product Knowledge and Merchandising

  • Actively learn product uses and benefits to advise customers on the right purchases.
  • Apply merchandising principles to ensure a corporate image and a visually appealing store.

Inventory and Stock Management

  • Assist with receiving and displaying goods in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Ensure products are available for customer purchase.
  • Comply with in-store procedures related to ticketing and pricing to avoid customer confusion.

Event Participation

  • Assist in events such as stock take, new store openings, product and seasonal launches.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist and advise professionally.
  • Competency in operating POS systems with a high degree of transactional accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and apply product knowledge effectively for increased sales.
  • Capability to maintain store cleanliness and apply merchandising principles.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Understanding of retail operations and customer service best practices.
  • Familiarity with point of sales systems and cash operations.
