Job Description

A Travel and Tours Consultant is a professional who specializes in planning, organizing, and coordinating travel arrangements and tours for clients. These consultants work within travel agencies, international organizations, or may operate independently, providing expertise on various destinations, travel products, and experiences. Their primary goal is to ensure client satisfaction by tailoring travel packages that fit the unique needs and interests of each traveler. This involves researching travel destinations, advising clients on travel arrangements, creating itineraries, booking transportation and accommodations, and providing necessary travel information and documentation. The role is dynamic and requires a strong understanding of different cultures, geography, and the travel industry, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and a knack for problem-solving to ensure smooth client experiences from initial inquiry to the completion of the journey.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough consultations to understand client's travel needs and preferences thoroughly.
  • Research travel destinations and trends to offer accurate and up-to-date advice.
  • Design, organize, and customize detailed travel itineraries based on client requirements.
  • Book flights, accommodations, and transportation arrangements for clients efficiently.
  • Provide clients with detailed travel documents and itineraries, ensuring clarity.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any travel-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain productive relationships with travel agencies, hotels, airlines, and other service providers.
  • Stay informed about changing travel restrictions, health, and safety requirements worldwide.
  • Suggest cost-effective travel options and alternatives for client budget considerations.
  • Monitor bookings till completion and ensure client travel arrangements run smoothly.
  • Promote and sell holiday packages, tours, and other travel services actively.
  • Follow up with clients to measure their satisfaction and collect feedback post-travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a travel agency or as an independent travel consultant required.
  • Excellent knowledge of travel software such as Amadeus or Sabre is essential.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to research and tailor travel packages for a diverse client base effectively.
  • Must possess good problem-solving skills and be able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Availability to address and resolve travel issues during non-traditional hours if needed.
