About Our Client

Our client is the largest producer, transmitter and distributor of electrical energy in the Middle East and North Africa.

Job Description

Optimize EMS applications such as State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Optimal Power Flow, and AGC for accuracy and computational efficiency.

Analyze system behaviour, optimize computational parameters, and implement best practices to maintain high-quality outputs, supporting secure and efficient grid operations.

Adjust parameters, convergence criteria, and thresholds to improve stability and speed
Validate application outputs against operational scenarios and industry standards.
Ensure integrity and accuracy of network models, telemetry, and measurement data.
Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor application health and reliability.
Provide support for real-time operational problems.
Prepare tuning guidelines, performance reports, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Act as a subject matter expert for EMS application tuning and reliability.
Recommend system enhancements to improve application robustness and scalability

The Successful Applicant

A successful Transmission Engineer - Power & Control Systems should have:

Bachelors Degree (Masters Degree/PhD is a plus) in Electrical Engineering and Power Systems
15+ Years of hands-on experience with SCADA/EMS advanced applications in transmission Grid
Proven track record in tuning and optimizing EMS applications such as:
State Estimation
Contingency Analysis
Optimal Power Flow (OPF)
Automatic Generation Control (AGC)
DTS
Etc.
Strong understanding of power system operations, network modeling, and real-time control principles.
Expert in GE e-terra AEMSPreferred Certifications:
Power System & EMS Vendor Certifications
GE Grid Solutions (e-terra) - EMS/SCADA Application Specialist
IEEE Power System Analysis & Operations Certification
Project Management Professional (PMP)
