Technical Director Data Centres And Mission Critical Electrical

As our Data Centres & Mission Critical sector continues to grow across the Middle East, we are looking to appoint a Technical Director – Data Centres & Mission Critical (Electrical) to join our Building Services team.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced mission critical design professional to help grow and strengthen our Data Centres offering across the UAE and KSA. Working closely with regional leadership and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical direction on complex data centre projects, champion design excellence, and support the continued growth of our Mission Critical practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of hyperscale, colocation, and mission critical facilities.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary Building Services design teams.
• Drive design quality, innovation, and technical excellence throughout project delivery.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on mission critical infrastructure strategies.
• Support business development, client engagement, and major project pursuits.
• Mentor and develop engineers across the Building Services team.
• Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of WSPs Data Centres & Mission Critical practice.

Qualifications

• A Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams within a consultancy environment.
• Extensive Middle East experience, with a strong understanding of regional client requirements, authority approvals, and project delivery frameworks.
• 18+ years experience in Building Services Engineering, with significant experience leading the design and delivery of Data Centre and Mission Critical projects.
• Deep technical expertise in mission critical electrical systems, including HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, resilience strategies, and critical power infrastructure.
• Experience delivering projects for hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and mission critical clients.
• A strong track record of developing client relationships, winning work, and supporting business growth.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation.
