Responsibilities
This position will work closely with the assigned Regional Sales Managers by assisting with pre-sales opportunities by providing technical leadership and support. The successful candidate will be a skilled engineer that is able to assess customer needs and facilitate solutions unique to their business.

As a Senior Systems Engineer You Provide Pre-sales Support Of Keysight’s Network Test And Visibility Solutions Represented Via The Network Application Solution Group. You Are Responsible For The Development Of Professional Relationships With Key Customers, Support And Management Of Sales Representatives And Distribution Partners Currently Engaged With Key Customers Within The META-CIS Region. Among Other Tasks, You Are Specifically Focused On The Following:
Effectively work jointly with the Regional Sales Manager to Architect the solution (create Bill of Materials) and ensure that it best leverages Ixia feature sets and fits into the overall Client architecture and requirements.
Assisting channel partners to identify, qualify and close pre-sales opportunities
Providing thought leadership and working closely with the Regional Sales Manager to coordinate efforts between partners, customer and Ixia
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with technical aptitude to deliver powerful, succinct, convincing, and customer-focused presentations at all levels of an organization
Ability to lead network architecture discussion and solution design.
Proactively and effectively identify customer needs, understand business issues and drivers behind specific request
Understanding customer pain points and projects and effectively positioning Ixia Network Visibility and Security solutions to solve those problems
Planning and conducting onsite and web presentations, demonstrations and proof-of-concepts
Responding timely to technical pre-sales inquiries, requests for information, requests for proposals
Installing and supporting customer evaluations
Delivering training for channel partners and customers
Recognized as technical point of contact and technology/market expert by customer
Assist the sales team in executing sales strategies through pre-sales support
Regular customer visits and discovery across the wider META region
Preparation of test or visibility solutions prior to on-site demonstration, evaluation and POC’s with focus on L2/3 testing solution (virtual and hardware based) such as IxNetwork, CloudPeak, automation frameworks, as well as network visibility solutions used in various network designs.
Delivering on-site demonstration, evaluation and POC’s, helping with automating these solutions and occasionally executing Professional Services tasks, as well as answering complex RFI’s and RFQ’s and establish BoM
Acting as Trusted Advisor for customers, designing Test Plans, PoC-plans, for execute related evaluations and assessments
Involvement in formal product presentations to customers
Maintain constant relationships with the product Marketing teams (Features requests, use cases and product/system applications)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering (Telecom, Computer Science or similar)
7 + years customer facing pre-sales experience or equivalent
Technically competent in multiple relevant areas of technology such as; Switching & Routing, SDN, MPLS, broadband and Authentication, Automotive and Industrial Ethernet, Datacentre, Virtualization, Cloud
Knowledge of one or more competitive products and technologies such as Spirent - Test Centre, Cloud Stress, Gigamon, VSS/NetScout and Big Switch solutions, as well as solutions from technology partners
Programming skills using REST, Python, Pearl, Ruby
Detailed understanding of data communications concepts
Strong knowledge of switching and routing concept and protocols
Strong understanding of 802.XX, TCP/IP and Layer 4-7 concepts and protocols
Practical trouble-shooter of complex technical problems
Excellent initiative and ability to align broad strategic and tactical goals.
Great customer facing skills; builds credibility and confidence in Ixia’s service offerings
Collaborative and cross-functional style; works with sales, development and marketing teams to aid in growing services business.
Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present Ixia solutions and new technologies at trade shows/conferences etc
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French, Arabic and English.
