UMO is a stealth-mode FinTech venture aiming to evolve the way people experience money by building a unified, AI-powered, yet deeply human modern money platform across fiat, crypto, and investments - subject to regulatory approvals. The platform is being designed to break down traditional barriers to money across access, assets, and experience, enabling simpler, more adaptive ways for people to interact with financial services.

We are currently developing our MVP and navigating licensing requirements, with a multidisciplinary team of 100+ people representing 20+ nationalities. With our headquarters in the UAE and offices in Portugal and Ukraine, we are united behind a shared ambition and a relentless focus on serving our customers.


About this role

When infrastructure runs quietly in the background, the whole team moves faster — and that's the kind of ownership this role is built for. As our System Administrator in Dubai, you'll be the person our office depends on: the one who ensures that every MacBook is ready before day one, every access policy is airtight, and every system hum is accounted for. You'll work with real autonomy, supported by a clear handover, a collaborative DevOps team, and a mandate to bring order, security, and simplicity to the way we work internally.


You'll take ownership of:

Office IT & Local Support

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support for office employees on-site in Dubai
  • Configuring, deploying, and supporting MacBooks as the primary work device across the team
  • Owning the full employee onboarding and offboarding cycle — from laptop provisioning and account creation to device deprovisioning and access revocation
  • Managing the day-to-day office IT infrastructure: Wi-Fi, LAN, printers, meeting room setup, and VoIP
  • Maintaining an accurate IT asset inventory and overseeing device lifecycle from procurement to retirement
  • Coordinating with external vendors — ISPs, telecom providers, hardware and service partners — to keep things running without interruption

Device Management & macOS

  • Preparing and maintaining clean, secure macOS environments: system configuration, OS updates, FileVault encryption, and security baselines
  • Managing MDM solutions (Jamf, Kandji, Intune, or similar) to keep endpoints consistent and compliant
  • Enforcing endpoint security controls: disk encryption, screen lock policies, and update cadence
  • Supporting corporate applications and VPN on macOS

Identity, Access & Okta (IAM / SSO)

  • Administering Okta across the full user lifecycle — Joiner, Mover, Leaver — including SSO configuration, MFA enforcement, and access policies
  • Integrating Okta with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, and internal tools
  • Managing role-based access control (RBAC) and upholding least-privilege principles across the organization
  • Supporting audit and compliance requirements tied to identity and access management

Cloud & Infrastructure Support

  • Supporting cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure / GCP) in close collaboration with DevOps — at an operational, not ownership, level
  • Assisting with IAM policies, VPN configuration, bastion host access, and secure access flows
  • Performing basic monitoring and initial incident triage: reviewing logs, responding to alerts, and running initial diagnostics
  • Supporting backup and restore procedures under defined runbooks
  • Participating in infrastructure and security improvement initiatives as the team scales


About you:

  • You have solid, hands-on experience as a System Administrator — at least 2 to 3 years in a similar role
  • You feel at home with macOS and know the full MacBook provisioning process inside and out
  • You have practical experience administering Okta — user lifecycle, SSO, MFA, and access policies are familiar territory
  • You hold a solid working knowledge of Linux fundamentals (Ubuntu or CentOS), basic Windows and macOS internals, and core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
  • You have worked with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 in a professional context
  • You have hands-on experience with VPN solutions — WireGuard, OpenVPN, or IPSec
  • You understand access control, IAM principles, and the security fundamentals that underpin them
  • You communicate clearly in English — enough to write solid documentation and hold technical conversations with the team


Can get you a few bonus points:

  • Experience working in a fintech, banking, or otherwise security-sensitive environment
  • Familiarity with Docker at a basic operational level
  • Exposure to Terraform or Ansible — read and execute level is enough
  • Hands-on experience with MDM platforms such as Jamf, Kandji, or Intune
  • Knowledge of Cloudflare Zero Trust or a comparable zero-trust access solution
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI DSS
