Job Description

The Supply Chain Specialist is an integral role within an organization, responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy. This fluid position ensures the smooth operation of the supply chain process, from raw materials to product delivery. The specialist is tasked with developing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs across all supply chain operations. With advancements in technology and globalization, the role has grown to encompass complex problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. The individual is expected to collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturers, transportation companies, and customers to ensure product availability and a seamless delivery experience.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that maximize efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and forecast inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of supply chain processes and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Analyze data to identify trends or issues in the supply chain and logistics.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment on requisitions and supply needs.
  • Maintain and update supply chain records, including supplier pricing and performance metrics.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Use software systems and tools to manage supply chain processes efficiently.
  • Stay informed about advances in supply chain management and logistics technology.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain-related challenges effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a supply chain or logistics role.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with suppliers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management software systems and tools is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze processes and lead improvement initiatives successfully.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of supply chain and logistics principles.
