Job Description

The Supplier Account Management role is a crucial position within our procurement department, focusing on managing and optimizing supplier relationships and accounts. This role aims to ensure the organization's supply needs are met efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, terms, and delivery schedules. They will also be responsible for monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that may arise. As a Supplier Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in sustaining high-quality supplier partnerships that contribute to the overall success of our business operations. This role is ideal for someone with excellent negotiation skills, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for building lasting supplier partnerships.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to enhance performance and service delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
  • Monitor supplier performance through metrics and qualitative feedback mechanisms.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to ensure alignment on supply needs and priorities.
  • Investigate and resolve any supplier discrepancies or contract disputes effectively.
  • Prepare and present supplier performance reports to senior management regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations in supplier dealings.
  • Identify potential risks in the supplier base and initiate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth processes.
  • Participate in supplier meetings and reviews to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning activities related to supply chain and procurement.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to inform supplier management strategies and decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years experience in supplier management or procurement roles.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for stakeholder engagement.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supplier management software is desirable.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for supplier meetings and assessments when required.
