Job Description

The Supermarket Branch Supervisor is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a branch within a larger supermarket chain. This role is essential for ensuring that the branch runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably while adhering to the company's policies and standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of the retail industry, and a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement. The supervisor will act as a link between the store staff and upper management, ensuring that both customer satisfaction and staff welfare are prioritized. This position requires an individual who is results-driven, customer-focused, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure seamless and efficient branch functioning.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate branch staff to achieve performance targets.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Manage inventory levels, place orders, and reduce waste to maintain a profitable operation.
  • Develop and implement promotional activities to increase footfall and sales.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and courteously.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on sales, budgets, and forecasts for management review.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth branch operations.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are strictly followed by all staff members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric mindset.
