Job Description

The role of a Structural Inspector is critical to ensuring the safety and integrity of buildings and infrastructure. As a Structural Inspector, you will be responsible for examining buildings, bridges, and other structures to ensure they conform to specifications and safety standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of engineering principles and construction practices. You will evaluate structures using visual inspections and testing instruments to detect possible failures or issues. Additionally, you will collaborate with construction teams, architects, and engineers to recommend corrective actions where necessary. Your work will help prevent structural failures that could lead to severe consequences, making your role highly significant and impactful.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of various structures to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Review and interpret engineering designs and construction plans for accuracy.
  • Ensure construction projects adhere to safety and structural guidelines effectively.
  • Identify defects and potential problems within newly constructed or existing structures.
  • Use testing equipment to assess the quality of materials and workmanship.

  • Monitor construction activities ensuring adherence to design specifications and standards.

  • Stay informed on current best practices, standards, and regulations within the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in structural inspection or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and regulatory codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to use specialized equipment and tools for testing and evaluation.
  • Strong communication skills for report writing and team collaboration.
