Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in steel bridge design, construction, inspection, and rehabilitation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing structural engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, safety requirements, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and verify structural designs, calculations, and shop drawings for steel bridge projects.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Conduct structural assessments, inspections, and condition surveys of steel bridges and related structures.
  • Evaluate structural integrity and recommend repair, strengthening, or rehabilitation solutions where required.
  • Review fabrication and erection methodologies for steel bridge components.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, local authority requirements, and project specifications.
  • Provide technical support during project planning, execution, and commissioning phases.
  • Prepare engineering reports, technical submissions, method statements, and project documentation.
  • Attend project meetings and represent the engineering team in discussions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Assist in value engineering initiatives and optimization of structural solutions.
  • Support claims, variations, and technical clarifications related to structural works when required.
  • Conduct site visits and coordinate with construction teams to resolve engineering issues.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, with significant experience on steel bridge projects.
  • Proven experience in the design, construction, inspection, or rehabilitation of steel bridges.
  • Strong knowledge of steel structures, bridge engineering principles, and structural analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with international bridge design codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software and design tools.
  • Experience in reviewing fabrication drawings and steel bridge erection procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
