Structural Design Engineer (225-805)

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and development of buildings and infrastructure, ensuring their safety, sustainability, and compliance with local regulations and international standards. Your expertise in engineering principles will be crucial in designing structures that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, while also considering cost-efficiency and environmental impact. Collaborating closely with architects and other engineering disciplines, you will take projects from conceptual stages through to detailed design and construction oversight. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in structural mechanics, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural design plans ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with architects to integrate structural aspects into the overall building design.
• Conduct structural analysis using software to predict performance and resolve issues.
• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings for design accuracy.
• Prepare cost estimates and project timelines for structural aspects of projects.
• Coordinate with construction teams to ensure designs are implemented correctly on site.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design support staff.
• Monitor project progress and troubleshoot design and construction challenges.
• Facilitate meetings and discussions with clients and stakeholders regarding project needs.
• Ensure all designs are environmentally sustainable and meet energy efficiency standards.
• Maintain documentation and records pertinent to each project phase and design change.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis preferred.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro or ETABS.
• Strong understanding of building codes and environmental regulations influencing design.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to non-engineers.
• Experience with BIM software and construction project management tools is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
