Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural design plans and specifications for various projects.
• Conduct structural analysis to ensure designs are safe and compliant with regulations.
• Collaborate with architects and project managers to integrate structural designs seamlessly.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create precise models and drawings.
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, and designs prepared by junior engineers or drafters.
• Perform site visits to assess existing structures and recommend necessary changes or improvements.
• Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and local building codes and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
• Participate in project meetings and presentations to present and explain structural designs.
• Stay updated with advancements in structural engineering technologies and methodologies.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve structural design issues during construction phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design engineering practice.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or SAP2000.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and structural design standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform complex calculations.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate technical concepts.
