The Bridges skill group sits within the Transportation Business (People & Places) and is committed to delivering major bridge schemes throughout the Middle East. We have an exciting opportunity to join a busy and expanding team of bridge engineers working on a number of high-profile projects, including long-span crossings, international bridges, architecturally led bridge designs, design and build schemes, and local authority commissions.
Due to an increased workload, we are seeking high-caliber professionals to support the delivery of innovative and complex infrastructure projects. We have a vacancy for a Structural BIM Engineer (Bridges), ideal for candidates eager to work on large-scale, multidisciplinary bridge and linear structure projects across the Middle East.
You will provide technical BIM leadership and contribute to the successful coordination and delivery of major infrastructure projects, supporting a global team through collaborative digital design processes.
As a Structural BIM Engineer (Bridges), you will lead the BIM process for bridge, tunnel, and related infrastructure projects. Your core responsibilities include
Lead the BIM process for bridge, tunnel, and related infrastructure projects.
Develop, manage, and coordinate structural BIM models in accordance with project specific protocols and standards.
Ensure model accuracy, appropriate Levels of Information Need (LOIN), and compliance with project and industry quality standards.
Facilitate coordination across multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective BIM integration and model delivery.
Participate in model reviews, adherence to BIM collaboration procedures, and support project wide digital consistency.
Promote a "Right First Time" delivery culture and continuous improvement in digital design practices.
Support the development and maintenance of BIM workflows, standards, and internal content libraries.
Mentor junior modelers and engineers on BIM best practices, modeling workflows, and quality control.
Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.
Heres what youll need
Required Qualifications And Experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in BIM modeling and coordination for bridge and tunnel structures.
Proven experience in BIM Execution on major infrastructure projects, ideally within a consultancy environment.
Proficiency in 3D modeling and representation of structural components and complex geometries using Revit.
Ability to extract high-quality 2D drawings (plans, sections, reinforcement details) directly from Revit models.
Strong capability in developing annotation, parametric, and adaptive families in Revit, as well as setting up and maintaining Revit templates to support automation, consistency, and flexible design workflows.
Proficiency in model coordination, clash detection, and design review processes using industry-standard tools (e.g., Revizto, Navisworks).
Working knowledge of integrating infrastructure alignments and models from civil design tools (e.g., Civil 3D, OpenRoads) with BIM design platforms.
Experience using Common Data Environments (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), ProjectWise, Aconex).
Ability to guide designers in implementing BIM standards and procedures aligned with ISO 19650.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Qualifications And Experience
Experience with visual programming and model automation (e.g., Grasshopper, RiR, Dynamo).
Knowledge of InfraWorks for infrastructure visualization and contextual modeling.
BIM-related certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional, buildingSMART certification, or ISO 19650 accreditation.
Experience with major infrastructure projects in the UAE or Middle East region.
Previous work experience in either a design consultancy or contractor role.
