Position Overview

The Strategy & Business Development Leader – MEA is responsible for shaping, driving, and executing the regional growth agenda across the Middle East and Africa. This role leads strategic planning, identifies new business opportunities, builds strategic partnerships, and drives cross-functional initiatives that expand the company’s market presence and long-term profitability in the region. The position requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and deep understanding of MEA market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Strategy Development
  • Lead the creation and execution of the MEA strategic plan aligned with global priorities and market reality.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities, industry trends, and potential threats.
  • Develop long-range plans including revenue forecasting, market segmentation, and investment prioritization.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps for country and functional teams.
  • Business Development & Growth Initiatives
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities including partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and potential M&A.
  • Build business cases, financial models, and go-to-market strategies for new products, services, or market entries.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with key stakeholders, partners, and government entities.
  • Executive Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a strategic advisor to regional leadership and global executives.
  • Facilitate alignment between regional commercial teams, finance, operations, and corporate strategy.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, board materials, and strategic reviews

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Delivery of regional strategic plan and growth objectives.
  • Successful onboarding of new partnerships, deals, or business opportunities.
  • Revenue acceleration and market share expansion in MEA.
  • Quality and accuracy of market insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Execution success rate of strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Leadership effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Professional Experience

  • 10–15+ years of experience in strategy, business development, management consulting, or corporate planning.
  • Proven experience in the Middle East & Africa markets.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading strategic projects and delivering measurable commercial results.
  • Experience with market entry strategies, and large-scale transformation programs.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent financial modelling and business case development capabilities.
  • Ability to influence, manage stakeholders and collaborate with C-level executives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of cultural awareness and ability to operate across diverse markets.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic, French, or relevant local languages are a plus.
