The Strategic Pursuits Lead drives WSP’s highest‑value, most complex pursuits across the Middle East. Your role includes shaping win strategies, guiding multi‑disciplinary teams, and ensuring our proposals reflect deep technical understanding, delivery excellence, and a compelling client value proposition. This role brings together strategy, technical insight, pursuit leadership, and cross‑regional collaboration to secure transformative projects for WSP.
Responsibilities
Technical Excellence & Delivery Insight
Bring a strong technical understanding of how major projects are scoped, structured, resourced, delivered, and governed—ensuring proposals are accurate, feasible, and future‑ready.
Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to shape technical methodologies, delivery approaches, delivery organisation structures, risk strategies, and execution plans.
Ensure our written responses demonstrate clarity, technical credibility, and innovation.
Connect lessons learned from past projects into future proposals to continually strengthen our value proposition.
Bid Leadership & Proposal Development
Act as the bid lead for assigned strategic pursuits, orchestrating multi-disciplinary teams to produce cohesive, high-impact proposals.
Drive the development of compelling win themes, differentiators, and client-specific messaging across all technical, commercial, and management volumes.
Lead key pursuit meetings, including strategy workshops, solution development sessions, writing alignment reviews etc.
Ensure pricing structures, commercial models, delivery plans, and teaming strategies are aligned to the overarching win strategy and client value drivers.
Quality, Consistency & Continuous Improvement
Ensure all submissions are compliant, professionally presented, cohesive, and aligned with WSP’s brand guildelines.
Embed structured win/loss analysis and ensure actionable insights are fed back into pursuit strategies, content libraries, and delivery assumptions.
Champion the use of CRM tools, ensuring that data, contacts, capture insights, and client feedback directly inform pursuit strategies.
Collaboration, Culture & “One WSP” Integration
Bring technical teams, business leaders, market experts, and global experts together around a unified pursuit strategy.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence—role‑modelling a proactive, solutions‑focused, and client‑centric mindset.
Support capability building across the region’s bidding community by mentoring pursuit teams and sharing best practices.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business, or a related field (master’s preferred).
15+ years leading major pursuits, proposals, or project delivery within engineering, infrastructure, or professional services.
A proven track record of driving complex, multi‑disciplinary, high‑value bids.
Strong technical understanding of how projects are designed, managed, resourced, procured, and delivered.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, coordinate multiple technical inputs, and bring clarity to complex situations.
Willingness to travel across the Middle East as required.
