Strategic Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Joinery Strategic Consultant for a 6 to12-month engagement to streamline and optimize our joinery venture. This role is designed for a technical expert with a strong commercial background who can bridge the gap between high-quality manufacturing and market-driven profitability.

The successful candidate will evaluate our current operations and implement a robust framework for product selection, production efficiency, and financial accuracy within the UAE market.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Portfolio & Market Alignment
• Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current product range against local market demand (residential, commercial, and laboratory sectors).
• Define a "Core Product List" that balances bespoke capabilities with scalable, high-margin standardized units.
• Identify gaps in the current offering and recommend new product lines or materials that align with regional design trends and technical requirements.
• Manufacturing & Operational Streamlining
• Review existing factory workflows, machinery utilization, and labor allocation to identify bottlenecks.
• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the production lifecycle—from shop drawings to assembly and finishing.
• Advise on quality control benchmarks to ensure consistency and reduce material wastage.
• Costing & Pricing Methodology
• Develop a transparent and dynamic Costing Model that accounts for raw materials, hardware, direct labor, factory overheads, and logistics.
• Establish a Pricing Strategy that ensures competitiveness in the Dubai/UAE market while protecting target profit margins.
• Create a standardized estimation template for the sales team to ensure rapid, accurate quoting for complex projects.
  
  

• Industry Expertise: Minimum 10–15 years of experience in the joinery or fit-out industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management or consultancy capacity.
• Regional Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UAE joinery market, including local supplier networks, material availability, and regulatory standards.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of woodworking machinery (CNC, edge-banding, etc.), CAD/CAM software, and modern joinery construction techniques.
• Financial Acumen: Proven track record of developing complex costing sheets and pricing models that have led to measurable bottom-line improvements.
• Communication: Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to factory staff while presenting strategic data to ownership
