Transformation Services is part of the GCOO, driving the transformation agenda by accelerating and delivering effective change globally, with capabilities across consulting, programme management, business analysis and portfolio management.

The vision statement for Global Chief Operating Office (GCOO) Transformation Services is to be the Group’s strategic change partner, support the implementation of the Group Strategy and make change a source of sustainable competitive advantage for HSBC. GCOO change teams are at the center of the bank, working between Lines of Businesses and Infrastructure team on the highest profile programmes from strategy & design, to delivery and change adoption.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a key member of the GCOO Transformation team, reporting directly to the UAE & MENAT Head of Transformation, in this role you will be responsible for working collaboratively with local retail and wealth banking heads, as well as a variety of global business and delivery partners to take initiatives from initiation through to final implementation. You will operate at an executive level and engage and influence a wide spectrum of stakeholders and partners across HSBC.

  • Lead and manage Value Stream Investment Planning (VSIP) for and on behalf of IWPB across MENAT; this requires regular engagement with local and global stakeholders, Transformation and Technology teams within IWPB and across the wider HSBC Group.
  • Manage local market and strategic initiatives raised by senior management
  • Develop target operating models for shaping, managing and delivering strategic programs
  • Manage the VSIP process by engaging Market Heads, and liaising with Global domain leads to shape the CTB agenda for IWPB across MENAT.
  • Support UAE and MENAT Head of Transformation with portfolio management and senior management reporting.
  • Work closely with business partners to define the strategy, shape the approach across all initiatives and component activities, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes
  • Influence and drive Value Stream delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks
  • Lead, develop and grow a small team across multiple locations, to facilitate high-quality, on-time and within budget activity across the portfolio.
  • End to end responsibility for all aspects of your portfolio: working with business or product owners to define and plan the programmes from inception through to closure.
  • Lead definition of staffing, responsibilities and schedules
  • Lead the establishment of effective Value Steam controls and procedures.
  • Manage the delivery of multiple complex customer experience enhancement initiatives from design through to release
  • Supervise and oversee local market Transformation teams, and coordinate global resources through our GTC and GSC delivery centers
  • Work directly with various stakeholders across multiple geographies, such as Product Owners, Business Analysts, Process Designers, IT, and Digital teams to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
  • Operate as a ‘trusted advisor’ to senior executive leaders across HSBC, with whom they are partnered by identifying opportunities, constructively challenging conventional thinking, ensuring the customer and colleague outcomes shape the design, and then helping to prioritize and drive the execution of their change needs with a focus on delivering the desired customer, colleague, operational, and regulatory / financial outcomes.
  • Accountable for making complex HSBC-wide decisions, delivering high value financial improvement initiatives or regulatory outcomes, and creating an environment for development and capability uplift within the Transformation team.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Graduation degree is REQUIRED– to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit.
  • 8+ years of experience working in change environments across strategy, design (consulting), innovation and delivery.
  • Industry experience in large complex organizations, implementing major organizational change and business transformation projects for banking industry.
  • Outstanding relationship management and influencing skills – up to Board level.
  • Provide leadership and line management to a diverse team across multiple locations, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
  • Experience of working on complex projects with multiple workstreams, with the ability to identify the deliverables needed to complete a task or project.
  • The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies.
  • The ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions.
  • The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture.
  • Strong understanding of Global/ Digital/ Business Transformation and Agile methodologies and best practice techniques
