Job Description

The role of the Storekeeper is pivotal in maintaining an organized and efficient inventory system in a warehouse or storeroom setting. As a Storekeeper with designation code 28N25, you are responsible for ensuring the proper management and distribution of goods, materials, and supplies. This includes receiving, inventorying, storing, and issuing materials in a seamless and efficient manner. The Storekeeper must work closely with various departments to ensure that the inventory supply chain is adequately maintained to support operational demands. In addition, this position requires attention to detail, proficiency in inventory management software, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established guidelines and procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and capable of maintaining accuracy in all inventory-related interactions.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receipt and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and damage.
  • Organize and store materials in a manner that guarantees easy retrieval.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions and stock movements.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and inventories to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Coordinate with purchasing departments to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to monitor and track materials effectively.
  • Prepare and distribute orders for various departments based on requests.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the storage area.
  • Handle documentation for returns and exchanges of materials and goods.
  • Assist in training new storekeeping staff on processes and procedures.
  • Monitor expiration dates and shelf life of stored products for freshness.
  • Collaborate with logistics to support timely delivery and shipping of goods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional courses in inventory management preferred.
  • Two years of experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or related field.
  • Proficiency in using inventory software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing inventories.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working with multiple departments efficiently.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects, adhering to safety standards.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations concerning storage conditions.
