Job Description

As a Storekeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing the inventory and ensuring that accurate records are maintained for all warehouse activities. Your key responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, equipment, and other goods. You will be responsible for keeping track of the stock levels and ensuring that the inventory is well-organized, safe, and accessible. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure that there are no disruptions in the supply chain. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining an up-to-date record of inventory levels and preparing detailed reports for management. Your position as a Storekeeper is vital in sustaining the operational efficiency of the supply chain within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods for quantity, quality, and type specifications.
  • Accurately record data and details of inventory movements in the system.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to maximize space usage.
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date records of stock levels and transactions.
  • Prepare and manage periodic physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Coordinate with procurement and other departments to forecast inventory needs.
  • Implement and enforce safety and security procedures in the warehouse.
  • Manage the scheduling of deliveries and dispatch of goods to various departments.
  • Analyze and report inventory discrepancies, damages, and losses to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse environment at all times.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control processes.
  • Ensure all warehouse and inventory activities comply with company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a storekeeper or similar role in inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and stock control systems.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required in the role.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
