Store Operations Assistant - Retail

The Store Operations Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily activities of a retail store to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This position involves assisting with inventory control, maintaining store cleanliness, providing excellent customer service, and coordinating with various departments to fulfill operational tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced retail environment while upholding the brand’s standards and contributing to the overall shopping experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring smooth workflows.

• Support inventory management including stock checks, replenishment, and transfers.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales floor, backroom, and storage areas.

• Assist with product merchandising, labeling, and promotional setups.

• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure shelves and displays are well-stocked.

• Perform cash handling and assist with point-of-sale transactions as needed.

• Monitor and report stock discrepancies, damaged items, or low inventory levels.

• Help receive and inspect incoming shipments and manage returns or transfers.

• Ensure compliance with store policies, security protocols, and safety standards.

• Provide excellent customer service by directing inquiries or escalating issues appropriately.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in Retail Management is a plus.

• 1–2 years of experience in a retail operations or store assistant role.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Basic knowledge of inventory procedures and retail POS systems.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.

• Familiarity with health and safety standards in a retail setting.

• Physically fit and able to lift and move stock items.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
