Job Description

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the inventory and supplies necessary for the efficient operation of our store. This role is crucial in ensuring that stock levels are maintained, items are properly stored, and records are accurately kept. The Store Keeper will coordinate with various departments to fulfill their inventory needs and monitor the movement of goods to prevent any discrepancies. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with a team. In this role, you will contribute to the overall success of the store by ensuring a steady flow of goods and preventing shortages or overstock situations.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability.
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments in an organized manner.
  • Coordinate with purchasing department for timely replenishment of stock.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory checks and reconcile with system records.
  • Manage and update computerized inventory system for accurate record-keeping.
  • Ensure proper identification and labeling of stored goods for easy retrieval.
  • Organize and maintain the storage area for cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Handle and address any discrepancies found during inventory checks promptly.
  • Prepare and generate inventory reports for management and auditor review.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and order discrepancies.
  • Implement security measures to prevent theft and loss of inventory.
  • Assist in the disposal of obsolete or excess inventory as directed by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a store keeper or similar inventory management role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Proficient with inventory management software and systems experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for team coordination.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items safely if required.
