In the dynamic world of sports goods retail, an efficient Stock Controller is pivotal in ensuring that inventory levels are adequately maintained to meet customer demand while minimizing excess. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure optimal inventory availability across all locations.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliations to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
  • Analyze sales forecasts and customer demand patterns to plan inventory purchases effectively.
  • Develop and implement efficient stock control policies and procedures to reduce waste and loss.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track and report on stock levels and movements.
  • Identify slow-moving items and recommend strategies for inventory liquidation or realignment.
  • Ensure that all products are stored systematically and are easily accessible for stock picking.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of all inventory transactions and adjustments.
  • Provide regular reports to management on inventory performance and stock issues.
  • Train and supervise warehouse staff on procedures related to inventory control and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Manager, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management software and stock control systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines effectively.
