As a Stock Controller in the sports equipment sector, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the inventory of sports products to ensure optimal stock levels. Your keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills will be essential in maintaining accurate stock records and preventing discrepancies. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure optimal inventory quantities are maintained.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies in physical and system records.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely order fulfillment and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and plan for upcoming sports seasons.
  • Implement stock control processes to minimize wastage and overstock situations.
  • Utilize stock management systems to track stock movement and inventory accuracy.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports to management on a regular basis.
  • Implement measures to improve stock turnover rates and reduce holding costs.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of products to maintain organization and accessibility.
  • Participate in the development of inventory policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Identify slow-moving stock items and propose strategies for clearance or disposal.
  • Train and support junior staff in stock control procedures and system usage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Stock Controller or similar inventory management role.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with numerical data.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and systems is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced sports environment.
  • Understanding of supply chain procedures and inventory best practices.
