Steel Structural Inspector

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Steel Inspector with proven experience in Metro Rail infrastructure projects. The role involves inspection, quality control, and assurance of structural steel works including fabrication, erection, welding, and finishing to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and safety requirements.

Your role

Inspection & Quality Assurance

• Conduct routine inspections of structural steel works across Metro project sites.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, ITPs, and QA/QC procedures.
  
  

Fabrication Inspection

• Inspect fabrication activities including material traceability, fit-up, and dimensional checks.
• Ensure compliance with AWS, BS, EN, IS standards.
  
  

Welding Inspection

• Monitor welding activities and compliance with WPS/PQR.
• Verify welder qualifications and inspect weld quality.
• Witness NDT activities (UT, RT, MT, PT).
  
  

Erection & Installation

• Inspect erection of steel structures such as columns, beams, and trusses.
• Verify alignment, bolting, and connections.
  
  

Surface Treatment

• Inspect surface preparation, painting, coating, and galvanizing.
• Monitor DFT and corrosion protection systems.
  
  

Materials & Testing

• Verify MTCs and witness testing activities.
  
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain inspection reports, NCRs, and logs.
• Review method statements, WPS/PQR, and ITPs.
  
  

Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with project stakeholders and ensure safety compliance.
  
  

About You

Education

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  
  

Experience

• 8-10 years in structural steel inspection.
• Minimum 2 years in Metro/Rail projects.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of fabrication, erection, and welding inspection.
• Ability to read structural and shop drawings
  
  

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
