Title: Speech Therapist

 

Minimum Qualification: Bachelors in Speech & Language Pathology, Masters preferred

DHA License eligibility is a must.

 

Reporting to: Program Supervisor/Program Director

 

Principal responsibility: Ensure effective and efficient delivery of Speech services based on CEMC’s quality standards for students from age 1.5 years to adulthood. This role includes carrying out SLT assessments, choosing appropriate goals, and working with students in one-on-one and group settings. Experience training students in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices is essential.

 

·       Carry out assessments and determine students’ communication deficits

·       Create and implement IEPs within a multidisciplinary team (SPED teacher, OT, BCBA)

·       Implement speech therapy sessions in a one-on-one setting and in a group setting for minimum 30 hours/week

·       Continuously collect data on students’ progress in order to monitor students’ progress and make data-driven decisions

·       Coach parents and caregivers to continue the intervention at home

·       Write progress reports and have progress meetings with parent

·       Write reports for insurance/school purposes

·       Conduct speech evaluations at the centre or in a school setting – using tools such as PECS, CELF, REELS, OPT etc.

·       Teach a wide range of skills, including academics, functional living, play, and social skills

·       Collect and record data and update session notes during each session

·       Prepare materials and resources relevant to conducting therapy

·       Attend all scheduled team meetings

·       Complete and attend all mandatory trainings, including online and off-line trainings

·       Complete all necessary paperwork as directed by consultants or administrative staff.

·       Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times when working with other staff, clients and families.

·       Learn how to record and analyze meaningful data to track progress and effectiveness of program

  • Be an integral part of a clinical team

 

Qualifications: 

Ø Minimum Bachelors degree, preferred Masters degree. Degree should be attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ø Being trained on any of the following is highly preferred: OPT by TalkTools/PECS/AAC/Makaton/Hanen program/Prompt therapy

Ø Prior experience with the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement program (VB-MAPP) is preferred
