We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions to individuals with communication disorders, speech impairments, language delays, voice issues, and swallowing difficulties. The SLP works collaboratively with patients, their families, and healthcare teams to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate communication and swallowing disorders.
Administer standardized tests and clinical observations to identify speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
Design therapy programs that address speech production, language comprehension, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing function.
Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy sessions to clients, incorporating various techniques and exercises.
Use specialized techniques to improve articulation, language comprehension, expressive language skills, and voice quality.
Implement swallowing therapy to address dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) and improve safe swallowing function.
Provide guidance on modified diets and strategies to prevent aspiration.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about communication disorders, therapy goals, and home exercises.
Offer strategies for improving communication and enhancing the overall quality of life.
Collaborate with medical professionals, educators, psychologists, and other specialists to develop holistic treatment plans.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes.
Prepare detailed reports for patients, families, and referring healthcare providers.
Stay updated on advances in speech-language pathology research, techniques, and technologies.
Attend workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities.
Adhere to professional ethics and standards in speech-language pathology practice.
Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a patient-centered approach to care.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Registration or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist with relevant UAE regulatory bodies.
Knowledge of communication disorders, speech and language development, and swallowing physiology.
Experience in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapy sessions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team and communicate effectively with other professionals.
Proficiency in using assessment tools and therapy techniques specific to speech-language pathology.
Understanding of cultural diversity and sensitivity in patient interactions.
Knowledge of Arabic language is advantageous for effective communication with patients and families.
