Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapy sessions that focus on improving communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers for a comprehensive care approach.
  • Educate patients and families about speech disorders and treatment options available.
  • Document patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition.
  • Utilize a variety of techniques and methods to address speech and language issues.
  • Participate in continuous education to stay updated on therapy advancements.
  • Supervise and train speech therapy assistants and other support staff as needed.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions when individual therapy is not required.
  • Adapt treatment plans based on patient needs and ongoing assessments.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient medical information and records.
  • Provide virtual or remote therapy sessions as required by organizational protocols.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure or certification as a Speech Therapist is mandatory.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating a broad range of communication disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing personalized therapy plans.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt treatment methods based on individual patient needs.
