Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Medical Oncologist to join a leading healthcare facility. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical oncology care, diagnose and manage patients with various types of cancer, develop individualized treatment plans, and work closely with a multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies.
  • Develop individualized cancer treatment plans based on diagnosis, staging, clinical condition, and current treatment guidelines.
  • Administer and supervise systemic anticancer treatments, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and hormonal therapy where appropriate.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and manage treatment-related adverse effects and complications.
  • Review and interpret pathology reports, molecular studies, laboratory investigations, and relevant imaging.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and collaborate with surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and other specialists.
  • Provide cancer screening, risk assessment, preventive counseling, and survivorship care where applicable.
  • Manage oncological emergencies and coordinate urgent care when required.
  • Provide appropriate supportive and palliative care in collaboration with the relevant teams.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, side effects, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare authority regulations, hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • MD / DNB / DM / MRCP / FRCP / Arab Board or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Medical Oncology.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist Medical Oncologist.
  • Strong experience in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of cancers.
  • Experience in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and systemic cancer treatment.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered oncology care.
