The Spa Manager leads all operational aspects of the boutique Spa, fitness centre, and outdoor wellness areas, ensuring a seamless guest journey that reflects Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star standards. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the role is responsible for the smooth running of the entire Spa department, maintaining flawless facilities in coordination with Engineering, and motivating a highly skilled team to deliver refined, personalized, and memorable experiences. With a focus on wellness innovation and luxury service, the Spa Manager ensures every detail contributes to positioning the spa as a sanctuary of excellence within the hotel.
What will I be doing?
As a Spa Manager, you are ultimately responsible for overseeing the spa operations and team to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Spa Manager will also be required to achieve revenue targets and manage customer feedback. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Operational
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the boutique Spa, Fitness Centre, and outdoor wellness areas to ensure seamless and elevated service delivery.
- Manage the Spa Booking System, ensuring accuracy of reservations, reports, and KPIs. Monitor daily and monthly business levels, adjusting as needed to meet and exceed budget targets.
- Maximize treatment revenue through effective yield management of the treatment schedule.
- Lead the creation of treatment menus, ensuring innovation, alignment with global wellness trends, and adherence to the spa’s luxury concept. Arrange and attend all menu trials.
- Continuously introduce new and inspiring services to keep offerings fresh and aligned with Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star expectations.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop promotions, wellness events, and activations, including content creation and photography.
- Ensure all administrative requirements are completed daily, weekly, and monthly in accordance with company standards.
- Oversee Fitness Centre operations, ensuring facilities, equipment, and programming are maintained to the highest standard.
- Manage and grow membership offerings.
- Supervise pool operations, ensuring guest safety, comfort, and luxury service.
- Stay current on competitor activity and global wellness trends to maintain a leading edge.
- Control inventory for spa products, minimizing waste, and ensuring ordering aligns with budget and brand standards.
- Inspect treatments regularly to guarantee consistency, refinement, and adherence to service protocols.
- Deliver Hilton Health & Safety programs, ensuring compliance with local legislation and best practices, while maintaining impeccable hygiene standards throughout all spa facilities.
- Conduct hourly checks of all spa facilities, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and guest readiness at all times.
People
- Identify training needs and conduct timely performance reviews for the spa team as per company requirements.
- Inspire and motivate the team to deliver services that meet business specifications and achieve sales and financial targets.
- Recognize and reward good performance, managing a team member recognition program in line with expectations.
- Recruit team members in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
- Address low performance through discussions and where necessary, pursue formal disciplinary proceedings in line with HR policies.
- Ensure all vacation planning is completed, updated, and in line with business requirements.
- Facilitate succession planning of team members by setting key performance indicators, maintaining training calendars, overseeing appraisals, and providing regular feedback and coaching.
Financial
- Manage the spa’s departmental budget and P&L, including forecasts and accruals.
- Monitor product costs, inventory levels, and implement cost-control measures without compromising quality.
- Partner with Procurement to source premium, cost-effective products that reflect the spa’s luxury positioning.
Commercial
- Develop innovative wellness experiences and packages that resonate with guest needs and elevate the hotel’s wellness offering.
- Collaborate with Marketing to promote spa services, seasonal promotions, and curated wellness events.
- Regularly monitor wellness and luxury lifestyle trends, adapting services to ensure continued relevance and desirability.
