As the Commodity Manager/Buyer you will be responsible to negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Understands concepts, methods, procedures and approaches.
Fuel your passion
The Commodity Buyer is responsible for:
- Developing and executing long term strategies for the assigned commodity, ensuring best performance for procurement KPI
- Integrating commodity strategies into product leadership, engineering and manufacturing objectives
- For New Product Development, driving supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management with support of engineering, product leadership or other sourcing team in accordance with the business strategy
- Partnering and being a point of reference for Product Leadership, Sales and Engineering for product strategy of the assigned commodity
- Developing negotiation strategies and leading negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives of supply chain for Single PO as well as Strategic Partnership
- Negotiating and issuing purchase orders with suppliers achieving lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
- Developing Sourcing initiatives for cost out program, deflation, cycle reduction, BCC Sourcing and cash flow improvement (e.g. rebate, payment terms)
- Leveraging S&OP data to match and optimize supplier capacity with business goals
- Work strictly with contract management and legal team to lead Supply Strategic Agreement with suppliers
- Work in close synergy with Contract Manager and Legal to develop and negotiate ad hoc contractual frameworks and T&Cs
- Continuous Supplier management during projects execution and throughout project life (from ITO to delivery)
- Leading ITO costing strategy, building business execution model for complex projects
- Managing exposure and interaction with Internal and External Customer
- Support the review and update of privacy, cybersecurity and AI policies and procedures
- Participate in Baker Hughes Practice Groups like Digital and Artificial Intelligence
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s/Master degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering or Economic with experience in procurement or commodity management
- Show a good experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain
- English and Italian fluent, both in writing and speaking
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Analytical mindset with a proven ability to resolve problems and identify solutions
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Positive attitude to embrace change and see challenge as opportunity
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily
- Negotiation expertise
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Availability to travel
