Sonographer

The ultrasound technician, also known as a sonographer, uses specialized equipment to perform ultrasound examinations on patients. They operate sonographic equipment, interpret results, and communicate findings to physicians. Ultrasound technicians may specialize in specific areas, such as obstetrics, gynecology, or cardiology. They must follow safety protocols and maintain accurate patient records.

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field.
• Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required.
• Specialization in a specific area, such as obstetrics or cardiology, is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating sonographic equipment and analyzing images.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
