Software Development Test Engineer (225-903)

As a Software Development Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of software products. You will be working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design and implement testing strategies that help deliver high-quality software solutions. Your expertise in test planning, creation, and execution will ensure that products meet all initial requirements and function correctly. This position requires a deep understanding of both the software development lifecycle and testing methodologies to devise efficient testing processes. With a keen eye for detail, you will identify bugs, report them, and collaborate with the development team to ensure they are corrected, ultimately contributing to the development of reliable and robust applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts and manual tests.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand product requirements and functionality.
• Identify, record, and document all software bugs and issues clearly.
• Work closely with developers to identify and resolve software defects promptly.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for all features.
• Perform thorough regression testing upon bug resolution and feature updates.
• Analyze test results, and produce bug reports and testing summaries.
• Ensure test environments are properly set up and configured for testing needs.
• Stay updated on new testing tools and strategies in the software industry.
• Participate in scrum meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and support them in improving their testing skills.
• Prepare and present test reports for stakeholders to track quality metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Proven experience as a Software Test Engineer or similar role required.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and cases.
• Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium or Appium.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting languages for automated testing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
