Job Description

A Site Engineer - Mechanical is a key player in construction and engineering projects, specializing in overseeing and inspecting the mechanical aspects of construction works. This role involves coordinating with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that mechanical systems are correctly installed and function according to specifications and standards. The Site Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for managing the technical and practical aspects of projects, ensuring that schedules are maintained, and work is completed to the highest quality. They must also ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. This professional plays a crucial role in driving projects to successful completion by applying their expertise in mechanical engineering to various building or industrial construction projects.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems on construction sites.
  • Ensure all mechanical works are performed in compliance with designs and specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Supervise site staff and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems and troubleshoot potential issues.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are implemented for all mechanical installations.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure material availability.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings and plans for project comprehension.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for potential project challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar mechanical engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, systems, and project execution processes.
  • Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on collaborative work.
  • Ability to travel to remote construction sites as project needs dictate.
