About Wynn Al Marjan Island:
Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will offer 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. It will feature multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.
About The Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Show Operator Assistant Lighting to join the resort’s Theater Operations team.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Assist the Head of Lighting & Video in managing the department on a day-to-day basis; support performance reviews and the hiring, onboarding and training of new employees, and supervise the crew in the Head's absence.
Support the Head in establishing and maintaining the safe and consistent operation of all lighting systems for each performance, and act as a senior technical lead on shift when the Head is unavailable.
Assist the production team with the planning and strategy of the load-in and the creative and rehearsal process of the production, under the direction of the Head.
Help ensure adherence to the lighting design in collaboration with the Lighting Designer, as directed by the Head.
Contribute to the strategy and planning for the lighting systems installation, safety, training and operation, and implement agreed plans.
Oversee the operation of all moving lights, followspots, special effects, and lasers systems, sharing day-to-day operational oversight with the Head.
Supervise the crew in the performance of show cues and the operation of show cue tracks.
Install, assemble, hang and repair lighting fixtures and special effects systems.
Document, monitor and update lighting systems installation specifications, inventory of materials and equipment, and all pertinent inspection and maintenance records.
Monitor all lighting systems and provide oversight and supervision to maintain a safe environment.
Participate in the ongoing inspection and development of the lighting system installations.
Support the performers at all times by assisting and guiding their interaction with all show elements and technical staff.
Support the Head in creating an atmosphere that maximizes productivity and minimizes costs.
Assist in producing yearly department budgets and capital expense projections, and help oversee the supply, replacement and inventory of consumables.
Support required changes and the ongoing development of the show in coordination with the Resident Director and the Head.
Help establish emergency procedures for show systems with Stage Management and the technical team and ensure all department staff are trained and familiar with these procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in lighting for a large-scale theatrical or production show, including supervisory or lead experience.
Experience with a wide variety of modern theatrical lighting fixtures, lighting control, special effects, as it pertains to operation, installation, use and troubleshooting. Equipment to include ETC dimmers, ETC NET, Grand MA 3 and all conventional and automated fixtures.
Experience and knowledge of GFCI safety systems is required.
Must be able to supervise staff and perform under pressure, as well as manage logistics.
Must have the ability to work within fiscal budgets and to support their preparation.
Must be highly organized and be able to function in a stressful environment.
Must be able to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Must have the ability to produce high-quality work in a limited time frame.
Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills, with proven talents in leadership, safety and teamwork.
