Position Summary

Inspire and empower excellence in safety, health and environmental sustainability & Security across the site/unit.

Develop the Site/Unit SH&E OMP and drive its implementation through application of the Nestlé S&H Management System (NSMS) and Nestlé Environmental Management System (NEMS). Provide leadership across all parts of the site/unit to enable staff to realize their SH&E goals and create pride in their achievements.

Responsible for effectively communicating applicable security programs and related information to the on-site workforce, and for ensuring the practical implementation of and day-to-day compliance with applicable security requirements, guidelines and Best Practice.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

• Inspire Change: Create a compelling understanding of the Nestlé SH&E values and inspire stakeholders to excel in compliance & continuously improve, leveraging NCE Foundations and Advanced Practices (eg TPM, Lean Value Stream). Promote a behavioral approach to SH&E, based on Nestlé Leadership Framework.
  
  

• Create Strategy: Identify SH&E priorities, current & future challenges, and opportunities for change at site/unit level. Develop a holistic strategy and implementation plan, aligned with Market priorities & objectives, and with the overall site/unit OMP. Guide implementation and communication of the strategy.
  
  

• Implement NSMS & NEMS: Guide implementation of the NSMS, NEMS, and other Group SH&E Standards. Develop and continuously improve site/unit SH&E programs to deliver compliance and performance improvement. Ensure local S&H management system is certified to OHSAS 18001:2007 (all units) and to ISO14001:2004 (factories, PTCs, DCs).
  
  

• People Development: Ensure training and coaching is provided to the team to help them take ownership, and lead & manage SH&E within their area of responsibility. Provide personal coaching and support to Site/Unit Management Team.
  
  

• Develop SH&E Networks: Develop & coordinate SH&E networks of professionals, champions, and SMEs for the site/unit. Develop their functional and leadership competencies and ensure robust succession plans for key SH&E positions.
  
  

• Provide Guidance: Ensure managers receive trusted guidance & support on relevant SH&E matters. Identify expertise and good practices from inside and outside Nestlé and communicate them internally (both within the site/unit and beyond).
• Audit & Review: Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results are used to drive further improvement. Promote effective communication of successes and learnings, and recognition for strong performers and contributors.
• Achieving a high standard of security: work under the guidance of the responsible MSM in order to achieve short- and long-term security objectives, ensure the practical set-up of the facility security by following and corresponding with the findings of a thorough site-specific security risk assessment conducted by the MSM.
  
  

• Monitor, control and maintain the perimeter protection devices (e.g., fences, lighting) as well as modern security technology (e.g., CCTV, motion detection, alarms, etc), as well as pedestrian, visitors and vehicles accessing the facility grounds ensuring traceability of all relevant movements.
  

• Academic Experience:1st degree (typically technical) plus NEBOSH S&H IGC (or equivalent). For those planning career in SH&E: NEBOSH Diplomas in S&H and Env. Mgmt. (or equivalent).
• Took ownership of SH&E and drove change through personal leadership.
• Analyzed complex problems to identify multiple root causes.
• Worked in, and led, cross-functional teams.
• Translated policies & standards into practical action plans.
• Coached individuals and teams in different environments.
• Communicated effectively with different organizational levels.
• Took proactive approach to anticipating issues or improving current practices.
