Job Description

As a Service Advisor, you are the vital link between our customers and the automotive technicians. This role demands a strong understanding of automotive components and the ability to efficiently assess customer needs to ensure excellent service delivery. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating service schedules, communicating with customers about their vehicle needs, and providing a positive overall experience in the service department. Your goal is to ensure customer satisfaction through timely and accurate communication while contributing to the profitability and efficiency of the department. With a customer-first attitude, this role offers the opportunity to enhance negotiation skills and grow within the automotive service industry.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and ascertain problems or services they may require.
  • Communicate detailed service information to customers clearly and effectively.
  • Liaise with automotive technicians to accurately translate technical jargon for clients.
  • Schedule appointments, monitor vehicle service schedules, and manage workloads.
  • Ensure strong customer follow-up post-service to evaluate service satisfaction.
  • Advise customers on repair timelines and costs of services and parts.
  • Prepare detailed invoices, reviewing them with customers before processing payments.
  • Keep records of customer interactions, transactions, and claims for tracking purposes.
  • Suggest additional service options to enhance vehicle performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Review technical service bulletins and ensure information dissemination to the service team.
  • Assure all work completed meets high-quality standards and compliance regulations.
  • Handle complaints regarding service delivery promptly and courteously.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or related field such as automotive repair.
  • Strong automotive knowledge along with a passion for customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment and manage pressure.
  • Competence in using database systems and automotive service scheduling software.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a problem-solving aptitude and keen attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree in automotive technology preferred.
