Job Description

As a Service Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the smooth operation of the service department in an automotive dealership or service center. You will be the key point of contact for customers requiring vehicle maintenance and repair services, ensuring exceptional customer service from start to finish. You will be responsible for working closely with technicians and service managers to deliver timely and efficient solutions for our customers’ automotive needs. An ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, an understanding of automotive systems, and a dedication to customer satisfaction. Your ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain composure in a dynamic work environment will be critical to the success of the department.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and confirm appointment details upon their arrival.
  • Listen to customer descriptions of issues and obtain necessary vehicle information.
  • Prepare accurate repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered.
  • Communicate the potential repair options and service estimates to customers.
  • Work collaboratively with service technicians to relay technical information accurately.
  • Provide regular progress updates to customers on the status of their vehicle repairs.
  • Manage service appointments and ensure efficient service department workflow.
  • Maintain detailed records of all vehicle services and repairs performed.
  • Upsell additional services, maintenance, and parts to meet sales targets.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally and effectively.
  • Ensure all services and repairs comply with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with the inventory department to ensure parts availability for service jobs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
  • Proven experience in an automotive service advisory role or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Proficiency with service management software and basic computer applications.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
